| It was back in 1961 that a Japanese businessman stopped in front of Duane Hinshaw's sporting goods store in Enumclaw with 2 new Honda motorcycles in the back of his pickup, and asked Duane if he'd be interested in selling this new line of bikes. Since Duane had been selling Cushman scooters at the time, He thought that these new Hondas might be a nice step up for his customers. The Hondas were a hit with the locals, and by 1964, Duane brought his sons Burke and Paul into the business and opened a second store in Auburn. Within a few years the Enumclaw store was closed and a store was opened in Puyallup.
In 1970, Honda introduced a funny little 2-cylinder car and the Hinshaws added these to their growing business. By 1973, Honda had introduced the Civic, America went through the "gas crunch", and the Hinshaw family had a booming motorcycle and auto business on their hands.
Through the '70's and the '80's the Hinshaw's prospered selling all the Honda products and in 1986 added the Acura line.
In 1989 the Puyallup store was consolidated with the Auburn store.
In 1996 the motorcycle business was sold to Ron and Laura Orr. Ron was the dealership's general manager at the time and had originally started with Hinshaw's in 1976 as a salesman in the Puyallup store.
Now with five great product lines and a very experienced staff, we moved to our present location in 2003 and have set records for sales each year and we're Honda's #1 volume motorcycle and atv dealer in Washington.
